Silence to Signals

Giving Your Child a Voice, One Signal at a Time

A one-hour training for parents of non-speaking and minimally speaking autistic children

Every child is communicating.

The meltdowns weren't the problem. The meltdowns were the message.

Watch the training and learn what your child's behavior is telling you, and the framework for reading it.

Dr. Catherine C. Acotto, PhD, CCC-SLP. 26 years and 50,000+ clinical hours with non-speaking and minimally speaking autistic children.

Picture 3:15 on a Tuesday afternoon.

You pull into the school pickup line and you can already see his teacher walking toward your car. That's not the "great day" walk. That's the other one.

"There was a fire drill this morning, and he hasn't been able to recover."

You run the whole calculation in thirty seconds. In that moment, what was your child signaling?

The missing piece isn't a new therapy, or a different behavior plan. The missing piece is interpretation.

In this training

  1. What is this telling me?The question that replaces "how do I stop this," and why it changes how you respond.
  2. You are already the intervention. The therapist sees your child forty-five minutes a week. You see your child every waking hour.
  3. The therapist can't do what you can do.Why communication happens in relationship, in the moments nobody schedules.

Plus the six-stage SIGNAL Path at the center of the Silence to Signals™ Communication Framework, and the research behind it.

Who's teaching it

I'm Dr. Catherine Acotto. I've spent twenty-six years with non-speaking and minimally speaking autistic children, and I still work every week in a preschool autism program.

In all that time, I have never met a child who doesn't communicate. Not once.

The question has never been whether your child is communicating. The question is whether anyone around them has learned how to read it.
